Hedy Bach is a creative, an image maker, a lens-based artist, and has been trained as a visual researcher.
Hedy Bach loves challenge and the opportunity to work with new people. She is a visual and lens-based creative. She delivers excellence and innovation in her following areas:
Healing through Fine Arts
Photography (photojournalism-inspired approach)
Curriculum development - I provide expertise, support, and resources to individuals and departmental groups in learning outcomes development and assessment, course and curriculum improvement, and provide assistance with program review process.
Teaching - I focus on instructional and curriculum support at the course level for elementary, secondary and tertiary education and instructional and curriculum support at the program level for academic leaders. As well I provide educators with proactive and responsive support in many areas that affect excellence in teaching and learning such as curriculum design and development, instructional best practices, classroom management and mentoring.
Public speaking - I can provide presentations on a range of topics or ‘custom’ design a presentation on topics specific to your needs.
Visual Research as a photojournalism-inspired approach. As a visual narrative inquirer, I work from a view of experience in which experience is an undivided continuous interaction between human beings and their environments that includes thoughts, feelings, doings, and perceiving. Visual narrative inquiry builds on experience as story and a visual way of thinking about experience.
Arts based workshops - I believe in an interdisciplinary approach to learning, using the arts as a pathway to explore non-art topics. These art forms include painting, sculpting, photography, storytelling, poetry, and music. The goal of an arts-based workshop is not to teach people to be artists but to create immersive learning experiences using artistic processes to help people gain new insights and understandings.
Photography - Life is about the ordinary, the everyday and the mundane. Photography has changed my life. My passion for documenting humankind has led me to find beauty with intention. As an image maker, photographic images are how I tell and retell these stories. My curiosity of humankind presses me to wander into spaces and places that capture the candid moments of daily life. These are the moments I want to find, show, and tell. Photography continues to change my life as I learn along the way.
I am currently living in Edmonton, Alberta Canada, and I would love to hear from you! Please fill out this form to say 'dag', if you have questions about a workshop, teaching and learning, and/or want to hire me for a photo assignment.
